Information Architecture

A new version of the Columbia College Chicago personnel directory needed to be put in place to fix and compensate for inefficiencies found with the old system. A similar yet new interface was sketched and produced allowing for more rapid inclusion of user information. This system has to track not only contact information but details on degrees held by personnel, endeavors, expertise, and publications.

Development

This system needed to be brought into a place where the data was more manageable and accessible. I developed a Yahoo! Widget, made sure the OS X Dashboard widget already in place continued to function when the new system was put in place, and built a new system for the management of all the information flowing into this application. The database had to be completely overhauled and some of the corrupt (matched incorrectly) data from the old system was dumped. What could be saved was matched up and ported over to the new database.
